Bloomington Yard Waste Collection Begins April 12th

***Bloomington customers subscribed to the city's yard waste program are now limited to their yard waste cart and 20 extra bags each week.***

As of 2017, the City of Bloomington has chosen to organize garbage and recycling collection in the city, meaning all haulers are given a specific area of customers. This does mean that you may no longer choose to switch to Vierkant Disposal but if you have been given Vierkant as your provider, we will continue to stay your provider for the foreseeable future.

Vierkant Disposal provides mandatory garbage and recycling pickup as well as optional yard waste service. We provide Bloomington customers with two carts for garbage and recycling and an optional third cart for yard waste (see below).

We ask that all Bloomington customers to have their carts out by 7 am on Tuesday (collection day)

Cart Size:

Vierkant offers three sizes of carts including a 35 gallon (fits about 2-3 kitchen bags of trash), a 64 gallon (fits 4-6 kitchen bags of trash), and a 96 gallon (fits 7-10 kitchen bags of trash). For yard waste in the city of Bloomington, we offer a 64 or 96-gallon cart.

Garbage:

Vierkant Disposal provides weekly garbage pickup for the City of Bloomington. For cart sizes see above.

Any extra garbage can be bagged neatly and placed next to your cart and will be collected for an additional fee.

Recycling:

Vierkant collects recycling in the city of Bloomington on a bi-weekly basis. (Carts will be black, labeled with recycling stickers)

We offer 35, 64, or 96-gallon recycling carts (See above).

Any extra recycling should be properly bagged and bundled and placed neatly next to your recycle cart.

Yard Waste:

Vierkant collects yard waste for the City of Bloomington, weekly, April through November. (Carts will be brown or black with yard waste stickers on them)

The city offers a subscription service that gives you the option of one Vierkant yard waste cart (64, or 96 gallons) and up to 20 bags or bundles of brush. For more information and pricing of the subscription service visit The City of Bloomington Garbage and Recycling page.

The city also provides residents with the option of a per-bag service, meaning that every time you fill a paper lawn bag you must purchase a one-time use sticker from the city and place it on the bag for pickup. NOTE: yard waste set out on the curb without a proper sticker or subscription will be left at the curb.

Please bag or bundle any extra yard waste in certified compostable bags and place them neatly next to your cart.

All bundles should be cut down to no longer than 3 feet in length and logs should be no larger than 4 inches in diameter. Bags or bundles of yard waste should not weigh over 40 pounds each.
